my trip to the western Nepal ...

The last 10 days in the western Nepal with the team were just amazing. We were able to train altogether 95 youth leaders/ workers in 3 different trainings in 2 locations despite of all the strikes. Again, I was reminded that God is raising up a generation that loves him, his word, loves to worship and sacrifice things in life for his cause and I am so optimistic.

The journey wasn't pleasant though but full of lessons; I missed my flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadi (far-west) because of the crazy traffic in the ring road (airport area). It was so hard and painful to see the plane I was supposed to fly in just take off by the time I reached the airport and they didn’t even refund me :( Then I had to travel 24 hours by bus to reach the destination. And in addition I was stuck in the strike for nearly 4 hours and had to stop the bus over and over because I ate something that evening and my stomach wasn't happy and I didn't get to the training spot on time and  Koshil & Satosh (trainers) had to start the training ...

I was trying to figure out what could be the lessons God wanted to teach me otherwise why would he allow it ? ... I had an impression that the enemy was trying to discourage me and steal my passion for he knew what was coming but then God is God and is big and is the one who gives us unceasing passion. Another lesson that I learned on this trip was to completely trust in the LORD (Pro. 3:5-6) even with the very small detail because I may be too leaning on my well planned-schedule of each day for the whole trip but many things on earth we don't control but God does and he does it for the good.

Pray for these youth leaders as they have departed with one year plan for their youth ministry that God would keep their passion and the zeal same even increase to win the lost. We will be seeing them in between 10-12 months for level 2 (follow up program).

Trainers, from the right; Koshil (GYMN Nepal training staff), Santosh ( a volunteer trainer who has gone through our level 1, 2 and 3 trainings and me, Jomesh). This picture was taken right in Pushpalal Chowk, Nepalgunj after finishing all trainings)

During the Strike we used Rekshaw to get to the training spot.
Appreciate your prayers for my next trip to Bangladesh from August 20-31. Together we make a greater impact for the LORD!

The JOY of serving the LORD

We recently trained 72 youth ministry leaders (including several Church pastors) in Jiri, Nepal. And I was reminded of how Jesus sent 72 to preach the gospel in Luke 10 and this number is so strategic. I am personally so optimistic that these young passionate leaders will have lot of God’s stories to tell and lead many young people to Christ!

Participants of Jiri Training with trainers.
Jiri lies at an altitude of 1,905 meters (6,250 feet) and is the eastern-most terminus of the highway coming from Kathmandu. It took us 8 hours by bus for 184 km due to narrow and winding roads. In some places we (all passengers) had to get down to lighten the vehicle.

HUCFN (Himalayan United Christian Fellowship Nepal) hosted our training and it was so wonderful to hear their work and vision to invest more in youth ministries and how they encouraged several pastors to join the training.  One of the things that really impressed me was how most of the participants had to walk over 4 hours one way just to get in the training location and to see their undivided attention from session 1 to the end.

Micro van that took us to Jiri and there are few places we, all passengers had to get down to lighten the vehicle.

Few testimonies about the training;

Brother Anand Tamang Says,The seminar has helped me to get the real concept of Jesus' model ministry which can be practically applied in my church and youth group. The action steps and setting up of the goals for youth ministry is really applicable. The seminar has helped me to create the mission statement of my youth ministry and the goals set up in class are really helpful for the betterment of the church.”

Joseph Sunuwar Says; “Indeed, I was not clear about youth ministry before even though when I was in Bible College. Now because of this seminar I am vcery much excited to builds up new leaders in my church.”
